Thamnophis ordinoides - Northwestern Garter Snake

It was a lovely, sunny day when James found this garter snake. It was sleeping. He walked up to it and the snake didn't budge.

I made my approach to take some photos, sort of in disbelief by how peacefully it dozed, even as I was practically inches from it's face.
